Description

This Allium is a great performer on a green roof. It is incredibly drought-tolerant. Even in extreme cases of drought where the foliage might burn out, the bulb will generally remain intact and it will return the following year. Taller foliage makes for a nice accent in the green roof meadow, and the flowers provide a springtime splash of color. This is the same plant often grown in herb gardens, and this species can be used for culinary purposes. Flowers attract butterflies, bees, and birds. This plant can keep its foliage well into the winter months. Sold as bare root bulbs and plugs.
