Description

A tough, reliable, dark green-leaved groundcover, with smaller foliage than the species and a somewhat tighter habit. In late summer, small star-shaped, yellow flowers appear, gradually turning to orange as they mature. Showy red seed heads follow, creating a spectacular flowering show. Foliage turns reddish in late Autumn before dropping, and small maroon-red rosettes are set for the winter. Unique enough to be planted in conjunction with the straight species to good effect. This variety is tolerant of light shade, but must receive some sun during the day. This plant is nearly identical to - and sometimes mistaken for - Sedum middendorfianum diffusum, an earlier bloomer.
