Carex flacca

Description

This semi-evergreen grass features blue-green foliage that can act as a ground cover over time when planted with close spacing, however, it is often used as an accent plant. The species is tolerant of some salt spray and can be good to use on roofs with coastal access.

Most often planted for its foliage, this species will benefit from growing in a deeper soil profile, or in mounded green roof media, as well as regular watering, to help become established.
