Sesleria caerulea

Description

This grass features striking blue-green foliage. Although somewhat shorter in stature compared with other grasses, this species does add height to lower green roof plantings, increasing the opportunity for rooftop biodiversity. An excellent choice for locations receiving some shade. Best used in mass plantings where its color and texture is truly eye-catching. Foliage becomes bluer in cooler temperatures. As with most grasses on green roofs, it will benefit from growing in a deeper soil profile or in mounded green roof media, with regular watering to help become established.

Large orders may require custom growing. Please contact the office for lead times.
