Delosperma cooperi

Though common in the trade, this South African ground cover is far from pedestrian. It is one of the most popular Delosperma because of its reliable, fast-growing foliage and its large, shiny, purplish-pink flowers, which bloom throughout the summer. Flowers attract pollinators when open during the day; the blooms close up at night, as with all Delosperma. Winter foliage ranges from yellow-green to an orange-toned bronze. An excellent and sought-after species for green roofs, this drought tolerant plant has proven its worth in the industry.
