Ipomopsis rubra

Description

A North American Native biennial accent plant with feathery green rosettes of leaves, which appear in spring and grow throughout the season. Bright red flowers open in early summer and are easily seen from a distance, or, from the ground, on their 3-4′ high spikes. This plant will self-sow in open ground but, it is not aggressive. Occasionally, flower color will be yellow. We have had success with this plant in as little as 4″ of media depth. Flowers attract hummingbirds and other pollinators and increase the biodiversity on the roof. Not reliably hardy below Zone 6.

Larger orders may need custom growing. Please contact us for lead times.
